The annual Leonid meteor shower happens this week, peaking Nov 17-18. This year we expect only 10 meteors per hour, but sometimes the Leonids produce meteor storms with 100,000+ meteors per hour, which happened in 1833 in the eastern part of the USA, causing a major religious revival in that part of the country at that time.

There's a new moon tonight, so that's good. Prime viewing is 2 a.m. Pacific Time, but any time after midnight is good.
