That has nothing to do with a police state. It has always been so. There is a difference between being guilty and having been found guilty. In the OJ trial, everybody experienced that . So, both those concepts and their distinction can be entertained concurrently in one's head.

We know that Trump has many charges against him, and many acts for which he has not been charged, for which he has not yet been legally found guilty and perhaps never will.

Are you objecting the usage of "guilty" being applied to him in the informal sense suggesting that people don't know the difference between that and a legal finding? Or do you really think that he's not guilty of any of this?
