As has often been the case, your points here are good ones. It is just that I cannot make a distinction of the effect on this hypothetical situation if the person had any other profession. It seems to me more a matter of intent (by anyone) than a matter of profession. (i.e., the money potentially to be made by a substantial stock move can far exceed the commissions that can be made on the transactions related to that move).
