Hmmmm

P.S. - Maybe the fact that I charge my battery at 110V can help with the longevity. Just noodlin' ...

Standard residential drop from a utility pole here in NA (North America) is 240/120 VAC.

120 VAC between neutral and a hot side.

My Model S is almost six years old and still holds a pretty good charge.

96% the last time I fully charged it just before a long trip.

I can control the charge rate while my car is in my garage with the Tesla Smartphone app.

5 amps at 240 VAC all the way up to 40 amps. NEMA 14-50 AC connector to 240 VAC

My "off grid" inverter supplies the power from my battery storage and PV's.

Most of the time I charge at no more than 15 amps.
