Eric, the thing about F-16s is that they enable a bunch of new standoff weapons that Ukraine will find very useful.

For example, Ukraine is already using NATO HARM missiles mounted onto their old MiG-29s. But it's likely that those HARMs are programmed to be in fixed targeting mode, which means their capabilities for detecting and homing in on air defense radars is limited.

Then there are JDAMs and medium-range air-to-air missiles that Ukraine desperately needs in order to take some of RuZZia's air advantage away.

Finally there's the fact that Ukraine's already limited air force is being attrited away. If RuZZia is overstressing their aircraft, think about how Ukraine is overstressing theirs. They could use some fresh F-16s to make up for the attrition.

Of course, you probably know already that F-16s won't be "game-changers." But they will still serve as a vital component in Ukraine's long-term strategy against RuZZia.

And overall, it plays a vital role in Ukraine outlasting PooTin's "forever war" strategy.
