England and Brexit were decided by UK people. Brexit is quite similar to Taiwan independence. I don't see why people in Greece should vote on Brexit or why people in Xian or Xinjiang should decide Taiwanese independence. One could also ponder whether Taiwanese should decide whether Uighurs should be independent. Although supposedly keen on freedom, the disunited states of America conducted a horrible civil war to conquer the uppity confederates. Mqurice
