<< Few observations - why would you want to buy puts on a company you're longing? (BKNG)>>

Hedge against the position in the event it does decline. He doesn't have to sell out of the long and makes some protection money on the down turn. This may be the one that is worth looking into if Scion is hedging that way.

<< I couldn't invest in China but that's a personal preference.>>

Me either. Made a post on the value page that there is potential here but there is too much risk. That whole situation can change of a whim. Also that BABA position took some deep hits yesterday but may be offering a buy once the dust of the Ma family selling settles.

<< SBLK, SB, EURN>>

My thinking is this was a contrarian play as the entire segment was getting beaten down. I personally do not expect him to still be holding these now. He made a statement a year ago that he expected us in a recession by any definition by now and we look to be heading there.

NXST is interesting as Scion has held that one off and on before too. There must be something there that they keep going to that one for.

For me there was nothing that got me excited to dig into deeper for aside from BKNG) but even there that's too pricey for me.

I do think there is going to be opportunity in China, but I just can't give into the risk there.
