See the Marc Faber book Tomorrows Gold.

In the Wiemar period, German stocks did rocket higher in German mark terms but still declined badly in US dollar/gold terms in the initial stage (US dollar was fully exchangeable to gold at that time). While they were going up in nominal terms they eventually they hit bottom versus gold when they were totally undervalued (in real terms) and then went substantially higher versus gold/US dollar. To see the same thing today (or a more modest version of it) we would expect stocks to certainly go up but with a substantial outperformance of gold first. We may be close......

All the best Chief.
