Skeeter- My focus was in equipment evaluation, support and optimization techniques rather than process.

Most of my career revolved around Panasonic. Their MVII-F's are simply wonderful but their MPA's are getting long in the tooth. In fact the Universal GSM platform is taking market share away from both Pana. and Fuji in the General Application segment.

As far as Chip Shooter technology, at 40,000 cph, I think we are seeing the peak of through-put for awhile. It's in the area of General Application that there is room for technology growth. Increasing speeds is a must for this segment to keep up with the lightning fast chip shooters. Panasonic is designing new MPA's and Fuji has discontinued the IP-III's so it's Universal's game to lose at this point.

I'm going to miss Nepcon this year but I would be interested in finding out what Fuji and Panasonic have in mind to combat Universal.

Interesting that you rate Phillips your favorite for high-volume manuf. Out here in Northern Cal. Fuji pretty much rules with the contractors with Panasonic a distant second. The Euro. manufacturers have a reputation of poor value and even poorer service for which I agree.

P.S. What Fuji and Pana. models did you work with and what Phiilips configuration are you using now?
