Jim, Thank you clarify that the Navy business was not the boilers. I believe it is still a very similar cleaning process to clean the vacuum drains. I know very well that NSF only certify filters, chemicals and equipment for the end users. NSF does not certify the municipal water supply chemicals. I believe that belong to EPA...may be FDA. I do not think the city water pipe is cleaned by using weak acids either. They normally use polyphosphate and/or flushing. Boiler scales are usually removed by acidic formulations. But, not for city water pipes. I still do not see if HERC has a growth business. I was surprised to know it was blamed as Calgon's fault. "HERC also uses their non-corrosive products to clean fire sprinkler systems. That is a huge untapped market in this country. " This is something I never heard before. It is an interesting subject. I will check it out. I am a member of NACE and knows NSF standards very well. Sincerely, Wade
