Jbershad,
It was only recently that a lot of public attention has been given to SiGe. But companies have been working on this for years....not just IBM. For instance, SiGe has been well studied by LU/Bell Labs, and there are several upstarts, most notably SiGe Microsystems in Canada that are commercializing this technology.
When they say that SiGe is 4 times cheaper than gallium arsenide, and requires minimal manufacturing modifications, I'd be concerned if I was holding ANAD, VTSS or TQNT. Your "10 years" may come sooner than you think! I just wish I could find a play on SiGe.
In anycase, I wish you luck. But investors have a nasty habit of looking way into the future and if they see VTSS/ANAD/TQNT have their days or their gross margins numbered then look out below!
JMHO, Tom C.
Disclaimer: I have no interest, short, long or otherwise in ANAD, VTSS or TQNT. But I would like to hear some ideas for playing the SiGe craze...semi equipment, semis, etc. |
