Eric,
Once we stop burning fossil fuels those problems will disappear permanently.
Fossil fuels will continue to be burned for the next 100 years.

We're still at least 60 years from inventing airplanes that don't require fossil fuels, for example.

Solar, wind, and other sources of "renewable energy" will not take us into a future free of fossil fuels.

Someone needs to invent that fusion thingy.

Or Iron Man's Arc Reactor ...
