Is the Pentium II ending up a dinosaur? no gain, except it costs more?(gain to Intel). More and more I see the Pentium II having little advantage over the K6. Will the K6-+ run out of speed soon, or will it soldier on keeping the pressure on Intel? Will Pentium II end up like the Microchannel?, completely end run? If they manage to make the AMD buses run as fast as the Pentium II by careful design and avoid the intel "kodak" patents and have the heart CPUs also run as fast that will give AMD an advantage.
