Wharfie, That's cuz he was unlucky enuf to follow Trump, who broke everything. Nothing significant happened under Trump, other than the COVID pandemic which couldn't have been prevented despite all of the soft power that America projected at the time.
No new wars.
No major terrorist attacks.
I wrote this last January. It applies even more today:
Tenchu's Thoughts: The Paradox of Trump's "Warmongering"
Especially what I wrote here:
******* Perhaps Trump got lucky. Perhaps the war in Ukraine, China's belligerence toward Taiwan, and North Korea's continued provocations would have still happened had Trump been re-elected.
But this is an argument that is becoming harder and harder to make, especially as the weakness of Brandon's foreign policy is becoming clear. After all, the longer the world continues down this path toward destabilization, the fewer excuses Brandon will have for his ineffectiveness. *******
Fast-forward to today.
Ukraine's counteroffensive failed to live up to expectations. PooTin hasn't run out of troops or ammo.
Hamas just became the next Al Qaeda, arguably exacerbated by Net-N-Yahoo and his destabilizing authoritarianism.
Anti-semitism has skyrocketed all over the world. Even Kanye, Kidler, and RFQ Jr. are jealous.
China continues down its path toward belligerence (although the meeting between Xi and Brandon in San Francisco did ease tensions a bit).
Bottom line is that, despite how bad Trump was, despite his provocations, his brazen ego, and his supposed warmonger tendencies, I feel less safe traveling internationally today than I did during Trump's term.
That's a paradox that no amount of spin can resolve.
