Unless the "predictions" were your own interpretations of what Nostradamus wrote, I doubt very much Nostradamus was that explicit.
Generally, seers and oracles and others of their ilk tend to be cryptic (even capricious) in their pronouncements or utterances. You will see examples of these in Shakespeare's immortal plays. Someone I know once tried to hit a Lotto 6/49 jackpot with an oracle's help. He was given six numbers: three were correct (so he got at least 10 bucks) but the other three were 'inverted', e.g., instead of 31, 34, and 42, he got 13, 43 and 24. When he tried to get the oracle to help him again, he was told he already had been helped and to go elsewhere. And he got sick, rather mysteriously, for a week. Some folks will say that what he practised was "bad medicine".
Beware: the quatrains of Nostradamus are subject to multiple interpretations. (You might even get "bad medicine").
However, I must admit I am somewhat disturbed by his prediction that the world will begin seeing terrible times as of mid-year 1999! Why? Simply because this is a direct (as opposed to a cryptic) prediction and also current events tend to support such a view. Furthermore, Nostradamus has had a good score rating despite the cryptic nature of his verses.
BTW, I would appreciate knowing the source(s) from which you have drawn the Nostradamus' predictions you posted. |
