We made it through five seasons of "Waking the Dead" enjoying the episodes when the plots became more intricate and the volume went down, but the last two story lines were just yelling and gore. Boyd is a poor boss and investigator, not to mention so emotionally stunted and retarded that I wouldn't trust him to sell vacuum cleaners. No one would work for that type of person, and the modern British police force doesn't tolerate people who try to drown a suspect in a sink "to knock something loose" instead of just "bashing him around some as usual." I have no doubt it would be a solid show with the team running itself minus Boyd. Just like "Taggart" has been fine without the lead. No more. Pity. The genre is up our alley.
