To All, Good news for all of us who own shares of Coherent Communications (CCSC) and Safeguard Scientific (SFE). Tellabs just made a buyout offer and the stock is up 25 pct. today on the news. I recommend selling into the bullish euphoria. There may be more in the stock price, but it is up past fair value ex a buyout.

I have mixed feelings about this. I just sold a third, but I am still in it in reasonable size. But, I always curse the third that got away. -g- However, I am glad that I made CCSC a long pick in my article on The Internet Financial Connection. And I can't even believe that last Summer, when the stock was in the toilet, I mentioned that this one would be a good fit for a Tellabs or a Lucent. NObody ever buys out the stocks I mention as buyout candidates. -g-

Safeguard helped CCSC get started and spun shares off to shareholders, but still holds a chunk. It also validates SFE's venture capital style, which has been under fire the last year or so.

Good luck, MB
