S,

SONY is SOOO big that they could use 'round-off-error' funds from their corporate budget to try to blow away IOM with a FUD advertising campaign ala Microsoft vs 'everyone else in the known universe'. A FUD campaign tied to the 'impending arrival' of the 'soon to be delivered', 'answer to all your storage questions', 'that's almost free', and 'never has an error' device just might have enough impact to cause corporate buyers and OEMs to hold off making ZIP or JAZ their storage standard. Once corporations adopt a standard, of any kind, it is hell to try to get them to change to something else. SONY needs to buy time. KE needs to get those commitments.
