Bill,
NATO has outlived its purpose
You could have saved yourself a lot of typing had you just come out and said this from the get-go.

I'm also assuming you are saying this from a "Fortress America" POV, because NATO sure has purpose for Europe, especially the former members of the Warsaw Pact such as Poland.

Heck, even Finland and Sweden now see value in joining NATO.
