I should add that in North America the power going to your house is 120/240 volts 60 Hz.

If it's not that then something is terribly wrong with the drop to your house.

I wired up a Tesla wall charger and it cost me out of pocket less than $700.00. If you were to wire up a NEMA 14-50 the price could be as low as a couple hundred bucks if your main breaker box was in your garage.

Lot's of variables.

Tesla's Supercharger network is pretty bulletproof. No wonder all the NA car manufactures (and a bunch of foreign ones) are switching to Tesla's NACS.
