I mentioned this before and why I won't equip my garage with a 220V charger for my plug-in hybrid.

You've probably read the stories of EVs plugged into garage chargers catching fire and burning the house down. Just a few months ago I read where a guy in CA had his Tesla go crispy critter and lost his garage and his house. After his insurance settled, he bought an ICE powered BMW..

Wrecking yards don't want them on their property either, as spontaneous battery fires happen too frequently in even lightly or undamaged EVs..
