I would expect to see at least 3 or 4 million shares in a secondary, BUT probably only 1/3 to 1/5 of that would raise cash for the company. AMZN insiders will probably be the registered sellers of the rest, in order to cash out some of their positions.

This is done all the time, and it is usually followed by a big decline in the stock. Just last week CNBC was talking about a company that was doing an IPO (I forgot the name) and they were selling 6 million shares, BUT only 1 million shares were to be sold to raise cash for the company. The rest was for the insiders to cash out.
