Wonka is weird. It's very dark- and I get it, Dahl, who created the character is dark, but Wonka is strangely not anywhere near as dark as he is in the book, but there's some messed up shit in Wonka. There's fairly significant acts of violence and I'm not sure the payoff is there (or that this is really going to entertain children.) The best thing about it is Hugh Grant as an Oomp Loompa- he steals the show. I couldn't wait for him to be on screen- along with Rowan Atkinson, who has WAY too small a part (I could watch Rowan read the phone book and be entertained.)

Anyway, I'd save your money and see Wonka on streaming, if you must see it. At least that way you can turn it off when it bugs you.
