This request will not impact my final portfolio, as I haven't checked the numbers as of late, but could Rule 10, give the contestants the option of keeping the merger funding in cash. I had the good fortune to have two of my stocks being bought out. The proceeds were then prorated into the remaining stocks in my portfolio (not the last one as the merger took place only a few weeks ago). But the first one was a cash deal and then the bottom fell out of my portfolio, and this added to my overall decline. I guess what I'm asking is for the onus of making the decision, let the contestant have some input for the option. Be assured--having two stocks bought out from my portfolio will not happen again! Thanks for you taking the time and effort to run this long-time contest.
