Many of us will be setting up our "stellar and awarding winning portfolios" over the long weekend and having the closing prices of today will be built into our tracking method. However, with you doing all the heavy lifting it should be your choice for the starting date. (IMO)

PS: I have a friend who knows a guy, whose cousin has a neighbor who is a hit man, but don't let the issue of the starting date be a factor in your decision. If you really want to make me happy you could start it January 4th, as that is my birthday!
