<< Sean Collett mentioned coal, specifically ARLP. I don't want that - the mlp.>>

ARLP has done very well this year. The stock started out the year at $17.82 and is currently trading at $21.18. If you factor in the 15% dividend from the beginning of the year, you are talking about a 33% return for 2023, which is not bad since it handily beats the SPX.

ARLP is in one of my retirement accounts so Schwab or TD Ameritrade will fill out that paper work, pending when my accounts get transferred.

I have done better than 33% with ARLP since I bought and sold it once and then bought back again. I was able to time that one well.

Coal stocks are not good very long term holdings, but they are very profitable to hold over certain periods of time.

It is a lot like life, you gotta be in the right place at the right time to take advantage of things.
