Bureau of the Census's expressing these time frame numbers in time units of seconds is as unrelatable to the average person as they can make it. For a reason? Have to wonder why do they do not express numbers in easy-to-understand, more relatable measures, like days, weeks, and months. Why seconds, one might ask? Maybe to make the number per unit of measurement lower? Yeah, those who are so inclined can do the math, but it would be much larger numbers, highlighting the source of the growth: Migration. And then, maybe it would cause curious people to ask the followup question: How much of that migration is legal vs. illegal migration. Just wondering.
