RDK, solid state batteries are on average 40% lighter than the same KW lithium-ion battery. Also they are quicker to 80% charge in just 15 to 30 minutes. Can solid-state batteries help EVs shed weight? \| Automotive World. I have worked with both types of systems. At this point cost is the biggest determent. This will change too as more battery manufacturers change to SS.
