Sounds like a great doc.
We were new to Portland. My wife was with me in the exam room at the time. We both laughed and appreciated his manner and judgment. We asked him if he was taking new patients and he said no. Turned out he was a popular top doc at Kaiser with lots of seniority. We pressed him a little and he gave in before we left that room. We lucked out.

He retired a few years ago. We left Kaiser and, with a Plan G Medicare supplement, I pretty much see only specialists now, although I have a nominal PCP with Providence as a sort of necessary formality in the system.
