It's now a full blown storm warning up in the mountains of southern BC, with the Coquihalla highway expecting a half metre of snow overnight. (And keep in mind this isn't fluffy powder, but heavy moisture-laden snow of the type that generates avalanches, so we expect lots of highway closures and maybe a new episode of Highway Thru Hell.)

The forecast of really cold weather this weekend has been moved forward. We are now supposed to drop below freezing by Thursday and stay there through the weekend. As you know, the big snow risk usually occurs when the warmer ocean air first comes back in, but that event has not arrived on our 7-day forecast yet. Fingers crossed that it's a quick transition!
