How many class 8 semis are at gross weight going down the road percentage wise?
A meaningless statement, since EV trucks are useless if they aren't towing anything significant.
Thermodynamic efficiency tops 50% at best.
And yet diesel packs MUCH more energy per pound than Li-Ion batteries.

That's more than enough to overcome the lower efficiencies of thermal engines vs. electric.
