Cboe Global Markets (BATS: CBOE) has posted Wednesday new issue notifications for Ark 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB), Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC), Invesco Galaxy Bitcoin ETF (BTCO) and three other proposed spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds to trade on the derivatives exchange starting Jan. 11.
This does not mean that the Securities and Exchange Commission has granted approval for the planned ETFs. Instead, the notifications are intended to inform investors when a new product comes to market.
In this case, the notifications were filed for the six funds seeking to list on Cboe ( CBOE) and show that all the funds will be available for trading on Jan. 11. At the time of writing, the New York Stock Exchange, owned by Intercontinental Exchange ( ICE), and Nasdaq ( NDAQ) have not issued notifications for their respective funds.
Franklin Bitcoin ETF (EZBC), VanEck Bitcoin Trust (HODL) and WisdomTree Bitcoin Fund ( BTCW) were the other three bitcoin funds that Cboe had filed for, according to the exchange's website.
"19b-4 approval notices have not yet appeared on the SEC website, without which listing would not happen," Henry Jim, ETF analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence, posted on X.
Meantime, investors are awaiting a key decision from the SEC on whether it will greenlight spot bitcoin ETFs. BItcoin ( BTC-USD) slipped 0.8% over the past 24 hours to $46.4K in midafternoon trading. |
