Here we go -- the Arctic air has arrived in Victoria with extremely cold winds out of the north. The wind chill is supposed to hit -20C in Vancouver tonight and as low as -50 or lower in northern BC. That will kill you PDQ if you are not careful.

And we just got the first snow pack report of the winter for BC, and it is very bad. Many areas are at record lows, and overall the BC snow pack is estimated at about 50% of normal. Given that there is no sign of the now 18 month long drought ending any time soon, we are already bracing for a difficult summer.
