He's probably getting a raw deal, but his anger is best directed at the people pulling the politicians' strings. No politicians in their right mind would take over farmers' land, because that leads to higher food prices - hardly a good platform to run on. Meanwhile in the US, and presumably in Europe, farmers are seeing an ever-shrinking share of the retail food price. A lot of that is people's preference for highly processed frankenfoods, but farmers have costs increasing faster than the lowball prices they get, while mega agribusinesses get more astute with grabbing government subsidies, both in the US and Europe and subsidies are generous there ( google.com )..
