Its relatively easy in town.

I've seen -50C once. Didn't sleep well that night, hoping everything held together.
Rented one old farm shack that had a propane tank-wasn't hooked up to gas. Things got a little dodgy colder than -40*.Always in the back of your mind the C3's were going to do something weird on ya.
Had another old farmhouse that had a coal stoker in it. Pretty well unlimited btu's there. Still needed power to run the motors though.

Fortuitous turn of events has us down here these days. I like winter more than most but these wind chills are too much.
