I drove a '69 Mercedes from the west coast to the prairies for a friend, towing it for the last 400 km. The car had been sitting in a Vancouver garage for 10 years. We enlisted the help of a retired German mechanic who located the two carburetors the car needed in California. Everything was ready to install, but the mechanic's shop was broken into, and the two carburetors stolen. This led to another two-month adventure to find matching carburetors. Currently, the car is being boxed and shipped to Saudi Arabia.
