Can you please explain (in clear simple sentences) the issue you are discussing?

I don't know how ETFs work in great detail. I understand that there are some outside parties that trade around the ETF and the underlying so as to keep the ETF valuation in line with its underlying assets, but I don't quite understand how they add shares or retire shares to and from the ETF.
