'What ever changes that can happen will take leadership and vision and I'm not sure there is anyone like to lead the way. SEC and BIG 10 along with ESPN and Fox have so much say nowadays and they won't go against their own interest. And you can count on many of big potential rule changes challenged in the courts. I see it as a big mess right now.

And now the girls are suing for equal pay.

And so it goes.

The smaller schools are important because they have fans too. You don't want them to lose interest when the expanded playoffs happen. Before, even if they had no hope of being big time they at least sometimes got to watch their own stars play and set records. Now they look up and they are gone. A big school comes to town and it's over at halftime. Most can find things better to do. A lot of sports I use to watch I no longer bother with. College football is about the last one. Will the younger generation be able to carry and support all the pro and college sports we have now? That's not clear to me right now. I have my doubts.

I think I put Miami in there because they just signed a good class and will have Cam Ward transfer in. He told everyone he was going pro but probably got feedback from the NFL and found his stock wasn't that high. Why go pro and maybe not make the team when you can go to Miami and get a big paycheck?

Curious what the reaction was in the Plains to Nick stepping down? Dancing in the streets? At the very least it help with recruiting in-state. I'm not even going to ask about the end of that game this year. Ouch. That had to be heartbreaking. But I thought the hire itself was interesting. Seems they had to down the list a bit to find a coach. You would think more would want the best job in country. I also wondered if there are parallels with the Auburn hire a few years back. An out of the area coach that didn't fit with the locals too well. Deboer has a great resume so maybe it won't be too big of an adjustment.
