Thank you for taking the time to articulate your reasoning. I agree that DXY and TNX drop (which tend to go together) usually brings a rally in gold. A similar logic is why I showed you the chart of GDX*SHY rather than GDX alone. Here's a long term chart of what you discussed: GDX, TNX, and the USD.
