As has become usual the last few years, Environment Canada underestimated this extreme weather event, with most places getting double the amount of snow that was predicted, up to 50 cm. It looks like about 30cm in my back yard. This shut down all schools and post-secondary education, which will remain closed today.

Tonight a warmer system is coming in, triggering many freezing rain warnings, which will come along with more snow in many areas.
