Supply Chain: I'm jumping in here.
HERE'S THE PRIMARY MESSAGE I'VE BEEN TRYING TO GET ACROSS.

A weak link can undermine a major company's viability.

How many cars can GM sell without steering wheels? Or, windows? Or, some little vital widget?

GM will be applying a lot of pressure for mission critical vendors to sign up and get Y2K compliant. And, there's a LOT of them. Non-mission critical vendors will be jumping aboard ... just so they can survive. If they're not Y2K compliant, GM will be cutting them OFF.

SEC wants GM compliant, and they won't be UNLESS mission critical vendors are. Some banks are now starting to make Y2K compliance a condition for long-term financing.

GM has a lot of motivation to get their ducks lined up.
