There are times where work related issues and family related issues require mitigation. .

For example, if you work in the electronics business, you might be asked to manufacture WMD even though you feel strongly against the idea. Fact is, a lot of electronics and the tech in general were invented and supported by the "defence" business. You can make your objections known, hand in your notice if you feel strongly enough, but often these matters involve outcomes that are unpractical and unfeasible. Ya just have bite on it and get on with the job. Very few Electronics businesses would survive without defence contracts.

I worked on programs where some of my extended family protested strongly against. I was even giving them lifts to the protest sites where my registration details were recorded. Would be interesting what the security services thought of that? However, it did not stop me from doing my job to the best of my ability as that is what I was paid to do. It's just one of those situations human beings find themselves in. You just do the best you can given the circumstances.

The outlets you have to resolve such conflicts are politics and religion. Beating on the family or work colleagues doesn't fix much beyond a certain point.
