Urea and runoff from cattle feed lots and similar operations, gets into the water. As you pointed out with plankton and CO2 urea is a fertilizer. What happens is plant life in streams grows so fast roots consume excessive oxygen and fish die because of it. Phytoplankton are a similar problem. Florida is plagued by... that plague. Florida’s 2018 Red Tide In a way many Floridians get what they deserve with climate change. Guess the #1 polluter.
