I know a guy that did the Thailand thing. He was very successful farmer here. Went over and fell in love a a beautiful young Thai lady. Parents helped them buy a farm(he needed a That on title), he bought all new equipment, fixed the farm up, yada yada...basically invested a ton of money. He came back to HI and when he flew back to permanently start his new life in Thailand after selling what he had left here, the whole family had moved on the farm and told him to vamoose, cops showed up and said if he didn't leave Thailand immediately he would be headed to a Thai jail. Needless to say, it was quite humbling for him.
