QED Announces WIND Tornado/VxWorks Support For RM52xx MIPS Processors SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Quantum Effect Design, Inc., a leading supplier of high-performance MIPS embedded processors, today announced an agreement with Wind River Systems (Nasdaq: WIND - news) to provide the Tornado(TM) development environment support for QED's RM52xx(TM) family of processors. Wind River Systems' Tornado is the industry-leading embedded system development environment. This agreement will enable QED customers to easily use Tornado's real-time operating system component, VxWorks(R), for system development, and will allow them to more quickly build their software, as Wind River will provide an RM52xx board support package (BSP), eliminating the need for customers to write their own BSP.
