Hi E_K_S,

Excellent advice.

I have all but a big fat ZERO in that regard.

We have only two nephews and they have very wealthy parents.

That's been admittedly an excuse for not making any firm decisions about the long term future.

I have simplified my assets, but not created a future plan as to how they get distributed upon death.

The step up in cost basis is a huge benefit as I've had to distribute my parents assets as their executrix.

My sibling pretty much needed the monetary benefit of the assets, and I had desire to retain them so it was a simple matter of retaining an arms length estimate of value and writing some checks.

That gave me a better balance of real estate.

Still want to add some ag land. Land without buildings as I'm tired of maintaining things - it currently keeps me too busy.

Completing the restoration of my classic Chevrolet's is my fun time and I'd like to accelerate that. Most of the true craftsmen who are most familiar with the bodies and drive trains are my seniors and are passing and /or retiring.

I just found an individual who has a 53, 54, and 55 Corvette. He has some pieces that I never obtained way back in 1969 when I first bought my 54 corvette. Buying two tail light assemblies, four wheel covers and some small pieces will cost me 5 times what I paid for the car. Of course those three initial years were in total production less than 4600 units. It's incredible that 71 years later there is anything even around.

Thanks again for your advice. The gifting of my dividend stocks and the value of a stepped up cost basis is certainly the big part of the plan. I have discussed in great detail the gifting of my IRA holdings to my Alma Mater, and have the necessary forms prepared, and awaiting the correct timing and stock price. So I guess I have a bit more than a zero. <smile>

The sharing of your sound trading techniques and personal planning advice is more than appreciated. The concept of it being fun time has escaped me. I always learn new constructive views from you - Thanks!

Your friendship has been and is greatly valued!

Warmest regards,

Bob
