Mohan,
I don't know your country India, nor I can imagine how you gather your information on other markets. However the person on Dell is not a valid source of inforamtion. The guy is ignorant of the raalities in Europe.
We in Europe know our own reality very well, and not only by watching CNN, or CNBC, we know it thorough daily work and contact!
Dell on European continent is non-existanct with the exception of a small presence in UK, Ireland and Scotland. Dell can't have success, becasue the contintental Euorpean mentality is too far away from the Americans.
Here people don't buy PC's through the post. They like to go to the shops, see it, try it, maybe discuss for one hour with sales-man, get a discount, over and byond what is offered, and then they pay cash and carry it home in theri cars. So Dell marketing will never work here and it has worked very little in UK. They are not doing business in South America, Asia, and Africa! So, again, you have a box maker that is almsot 100% reliant on the US market! One recession and you watch their stocks drop!
For you information, in Europe, today, CPQ is the no. 1 seller of PC trailed by IBM, HP, Nixdorf. and Olivetti. CPQ is evrywhere. In fact in the town whhere I live, 10 years ago we had IBM and Olivetti. Todday you hardly can see IBM anywhere. Only CPQ!
If you and any of your freind don't agree with what I say, then pls. be polite and disagree (which I could careless!) No rudness please.
By the way this is the message I sent to yor dell friend!
