The LS-120 has gotten off to a slow start, in part because Microsoft didn't release Win97 as expected. Without the OS supporting a drive it's kinda risky offering it for sale. To the best of my knowledge, Gateway is the first large, discount, OEM to be offering the LS-120 as an option and they've started offering it just recently. There is a SCSI LS-120 out there but it's too new for Gateway to offer.

I believe Compaq has been (or was) offering it as an option. I still don't see the point, unless the drive can be had for $50 and the media is $5 or less. 1.44 floppies are virtually free anymore, and that's a tough price to beat for daily file storage, albeit with the added price of some relative inconvenience. To each his own, I guess.
