It's interesting how Carl Sagan understood the physics of the greenhouse effect of greenhouse gasses in his original PBS series Cosmos way back in 1979.

I had the pleasure of personally meeting him back then.

He spent about a half hour in one hour long episode explaining the process of AGW and it's increasing danger to our planet.

The prime example in our solar system, the atmosphere of Venus.
