Actually, I have ran NT on 8 processor machines. You have to
use a OEM version of NT. Benchmarks that have been run shows some
scalabilty, not as good as UNIX but it is scaleable. The numbers
I have seen are:
4 CPUS - 1.00x
8 CPUS - 1.60x

NT 5.0 is rumored to scale well to 32 processors.

I work everyday with both NT and UNIX. I have worked in UNIX for
over 15 years and still prefer UNIX to NT. I have to agree with an
earlier post, I wouldn't get on an airplane if it was controlled
by NT...
